Our Team
Dizzale Tanner
Founder and Chief Executive Officer
Dizzale Tanner founded Altus Compliance in 2021 and brings more than 12 years of affordable housing compliance experience. She has reviewed and managed compliance across thousands of affordable units nationwide, the majority of which were LIHTC, and has worked across LIHTC, HUD Multifamily, Rural Development, HOME, Bond, and layered programs in more than 30 states. Her career includes serving as Regional HUD Director for an affordable housing developer, Senior Affordable Program Manager for a national apartment owner, where she was responsible for a nearly 2,700-unit affordable housing portfolio, and Compliance Specialist II and Team Lead for a property technology provider, supporting a portfolio of about 450 LIHTC, Rural Development, and Bond properties. She holds TCS, SHCM, COS, HCV, and BOS certifications.
Compliance Review and Quality Assurance
Our certified compliance specialists review files against applicable program requirements and conduct quality checks before findings are delivered to clients. The team supports LIHTC, HUD Multifamily, Rural Development, HOME, bond, and layered portfolios.
Strategic Partnerships and Public Programs
This team leads agency and public-sector engagement, proposal development, and program partnerships, helping Altus support complex housing initiatives from planning through implementation.
Implementation and Training
Our implementation specialists onboard clients, configure property workflows, and train teams on practical, repeatable compliance processes that support long-term consistency.
Inspection Readiness and Field Support
We support NSPIRE inspection readiness, corrective-action planning, and field-based compliance needs for owners and management companies.
Legal and Regulatory Advisors
Altus Compliance is supported by outside counsel with more than two decades of legal experience, including 15+ years in affordable housing, real estate development, and publicly funded programs. This counsel advises Altus on business, contracting, and regulatory matters, strengthening the firm’s internal approach to complex engagements. Outside counsel does not provide legal services directly to Altus clients through this website or Altus compliance engagements.

Altus Compliance LLC is an independent affordable housing compliance consulting firm based in Georgia. We work with owners, operators, asset managers, syndicators, and nonprofit housing organizations across the United States.
We are independent of state agencies, investors, and regulators. We work for the portfolios that engage us, with findings and recommendations designed to help address issues before they become regulatory matters.

How we think about the work.
Affordable housing exists to provide stable, safe housing to people who need it. Compliance, properly done, is part of how that mission is sustained. Errors that lead to recapture or material noncompliance do not only affect owners. They can affect the housing itself.
We take that responsibility seriously. Our work is technical and operational, but its purpose extends beyond any individual file or finding. We help our clients protect the long-term compliance, stability, and viability of the affordable housing they operate.
